from Amy-OCTOBER:
Well, I wasn't teacher of the month this month. Neither were
Luma or Carrie. We're keeping our fingers crossed for
November :)  I don't think it's going to happen for me though.
Especially when I receive notices like this:

I was driving Luma to the airport...it's always something!

We have a new bug to deal with lately: Grasshoppers.
Hugh ones. I think they eat the baby lizards.

The beautiful Monteverde apartments:
(My bedroom is the top right)
You can't tell, because it's dark, but there are beautiful
green mountains behind it.

The neighbor's horse:

A Guayama sunset:

My class standing on the steps outside the school:

Carrie and I teach on the second floor...
Luma's class is on the first floor.

My class in the "lunchroom":

The gym (covered court) is behind them.

On our long weekend (Discovery of America Holiday)
Luma, Carrie, Katie, Christina, Sharif and I went to
Rincon. Carrie and I had a rip-roaring evening in
San Juan the night before...so we weren't very festive.
Luma and our fabulous car outside
the Flora del Mar Inn where we stayed:

Luma and Carrie bonding in the pool:

The weekend before Halloween Luma, Carrie and I
went to Rincon again for a Halloween party. We went
dressed up as "Brides to Be" at a Bachelorette Party:
___
The problem was...women in Puerto Rico don't have
Bachelorette parties. (At least not the same kind we
have in the States.) So people just gave us weird looks
all night! Here we are with Doug and Jen
(our new Rincon friends) at the Halloween party:

[Hey - it may be the only time I get to be a "Bride to Be"
at a Bachelorette Party!!]
We had other pictures from that night...
but unfortunately even WE can't see them:

Here is my class hanging out in the bleachers waiting
for the Halloween talent show:

And the moment you have all been waiting for! The
Guamani teachers as N'Sync dancing to "Bye, Bye, Bye!"

from left to right:
Ishar (Chris), Amy (Justin), Carrie (JC), Tony (Lance) Luma (Joey)
We rocked the house!
Luma doing her solo:

Me doing my solo:

I felt like a rock star!

Our pumpkin snowman!:

We didn't win the contest. Luma's class did with
their Jack-o-cat.

Our neighbor John's birthday was on Halloween:
___
How can we forget Joe? Our loveable new neighbor
and John's roomate.

A NIGHT IN THE LIFE OF CARRIE AND AMY
Carrie and I thought it would be fun to document a
night out in San Juan. Unfortunately not a lot of
excitement happened that night...but this is a
"typical" night for us.
Carrie getting ready:                And here I am:
___
in Carrie's room looking for clothes to borrow...
I am no where near being ready.
A quick game of darts before going out:

Carrie won. As usual.
Here I am...not ready...but it's time to go:

I'm taking everything I need to get ready in the car.
(I'm wearing Carrie's clothes.)
Joe stopped us on the way out to take our picture:

(Notice that Carrie IS ready.) That's a fake smile
on my face because I'm mad because I had to put
everything down to take the picture.
Stopping at Banco Popular so I can get money:

Next stop...Bob's Pool Room - to buy supples
for the road:

Now we need gas! Here's Carrie in her "Grandma" car:

One of the many tolls on the way to San Juan (an hour drive):

I almost fell out of the window taking this picture.
First "hang out" in San Juan - The El San Juan Lobby:

Unfortunately none of the pictures came out. You'll have
to take our word for it that it is a beautiful place.
We hung out there for awhile and looked at all the rich,
well-dressed people and then moved on to Lupis:

Here we are in Lupis:

And here's the band:

Prime Time is the fun after hours bar down the road:

But they have no darts for the dart board!
Carrie and our new friend Mitch:

He likes to hang out at Lupis and Prime Time too.
On the way back to the car we passed Denny's:

Our favorite stop for a late night snack or bathroom break.
Getting into the car at the end of the night:

Yeah! It's still dark outside! It's not morning yet!
No matter what the time is - I always fall asleep in the car
on the way home (unless I'm driving):

Good night!:
