"When we
purchased our house, the basement needed some work. The previous owner
paid to have it waterproofed and have the back wall fixed (it was
pushed in a little). Everything was fine until the flood last year. Now
the back wall is pushing in again. This will be fixed today." ---Ricky ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ |

"Here is a
follow up from yesterday on my basement. The 'solution' was to add 5
metal braces to the back wall of my basement. First they dug five holes
in my backyard about 10 feet away from the back of the house. Then they
placed a metal plate in each hole. Then they drilled small holes
through my basement wall and put a metal rod through the hole which
went all the way to the metal plate. Then they put a matching metal
plate on the end of the rod in the basement, and bolted the two plates
to the rod. The 10 feet of dirt between the two plates is supposed to
keep my basement wall from moving any more. Over the next year, I am
supposed to tighten the nut on the rod every 3 months to make sure the
wall doesn't move any more. Pictures are of the 5 holes they dug and
the five plates now attached to my basement wall." note:
