2008 UPDATES
Cyril is most likely going on a MEU instead of going to Iraq!!
I believe it means mobilized emergancy unit... or something
like that. He will be on a ship with his unit sailing around...
waiting for emergencies. The ship has its own crew, he will
just be a passanger pretty much doing nothing.  It will be
much safer, unless something crazy happens.  We are
glad, except that we won't be able to talk often or send
mail. And he has more training to do now.  He will have
a couple different sessions of sailing around for a couple
weeks at a time, along with his regular training. His first
2 week training starts the end of March, and I am coming
home!!

6/20:  July 1 Cyril will be done with Guard duty and
will be reassign to Supply. This is less dangerous and
he will
(likely) be working in an air-contioned building  : )
Melissa saids that he will hopefully be closer to the
phone so he can call her more often and now, with
motomail, you can send a picture with your letter too.

6/3/ Cyril requests books. He liked Holes by by Louis Sachar

5/17-Melissa talked to Cyril. He's gained 15 pounds and requests
that we don't send him so many sweets : )

Packages to Cyril have been taking about 2 weeks to get there.

4/10-email: Cyril doesn't know if he will be doing supply work at
all anymore...  meaning he may be just a guard the whole time, but
they keep telling him different things and he isn't sure of anything.

4/1-Melissa talked to Cyril. He's doing "guard duty". Checking
vehicles at check-points. 16 hours a day. He'll be doing it for 3
months. After that he'll  be working in supply. His tour in Iraq might
 be 7 months instead
of 10.
